Long time, no update. Ya know I read my friends page every day but it never occurs to me to update once in a while.

So lets see, whats new...
Workin on a show for PK Yonge, ragtime the musical. Strapped onto a swinging truss 20 or 30 ft above the audience, operating a followspot. Good times.
Gatorstomping was last night, fucking rocked as always, it's even better when one of your friends owns one of the hottest clubs in town.

Upcoming:
May 10th - MC Chris, the Soical. Orlando. Be there.
16th - Mayo. Duh.
23rd, 24th and 25th (Labor day weekend) Mega party at ginnie springs, usually a few thousand people there, We'll have a campsite so come join us.
30th - Kevin Smith Party - Come dressed as your favorite Kevin Smith character.

And That's just May.

Gonna be a good summer.

So longtime no update LJ, I guess I just use facebook for this stuff nowadays.

Anywho, stuff in the works:
Birthday friday at stubbies, the best bar in the world with over 400 kinds of beer from around the world.
Partying at Ginnie springs all day satuday and getting drunk on the river.
If anyone wants in let me know, I'll be more than glad to toss some details/directions your way.

Also in the works: A party like I've never throw before. In conjunction with some legendary party throwing groups we are currently talking over 500 people, MINIMUM. Stay tuned for details.

Bad News....

About Megacon. I may not be able to go. My financial situation has been rapidly degrading to the point that even with a place to stay (which we have) I don't think I can afford gas/tickets, and especially not a costume.

Suck.

champs

So last night was insane. We started the night at stubbies where we had some excellent beers and watched the first half of the game with Owen, Liz, and Ryan. At halftime we headed out to the money palace.

At the money palace we came up with a new game.

Rum War.

Worst. Idea. Ever. It's basically the cardagme war, 2 players put down a card, and then flip them, the high card wins, only difference is in run war, the loser of the flip takes a shot of rum.

So soon(?) thereafter we won the game, and headed out for the massive UF rush.

And oh my god was it massive, from every street, every house streams of people headed in one direction towards the campus.

We got to the huge mob after several high fives, including a few from some awesome firemen and paramedics, and that shit was amazing.

Oh, btw, you can use this link: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=SW+Archer+Rd%2FSR-24&daddr=29.479356,-82.540197&hl=en&geocode=FWPswwEdVuIW-w%3B&mra=dme&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=14&sll=29.491833,-82.524662&sspn=0.053417,0.11158&ie=UTF8&ll=29.490189,-82.519169&spn=0.053418,0.11158&z=14 And go into street view slightly before the end point of the route to see the road entrance. Look for that road with an added big lit up sign.

locked and (soon to be) loaded

So the sw cannon isn't looking so hot, but thats no problem, we have a ton of fireworks and a real cannon as backup.

A few things to note :
-I don't reccomend wearing sandals, there are little sticks that could cause you emense pain.
-Don't forget to bring a tent if you wanna hang and camp with us, I have 250 acres here, I'm sure we can find room for more tents.
-Bring a bottle, even if it's a 10$ bottle of cheap abc vodka or a 6-pack of bud, I'll have a large cooler ready to go.
-If anyone needs to stop at a grocery store/liqor store on the way here let me know and I'll send easy directions your way. (like 2 minutes from the exit)
-If you want to buy more fireworks there is an awesome store at the MICANOPY exit (exit 374, the exit right before gainesville)
-I'm fucking excited, see everyone tommrow!

P-P-P-PONG!

addendum: I just scored two beer pong tables and ( I think) a sweet generator.

P-P-P-P-PARTAY!

So the bands have last minute bailed, (read: asshats) but that just gave me more money that I didn't have to spend on stage and lighting, to buy more keg'd goodness and explosives. Now that I'm using a stereo setup instead, any requests for the party playlist? In fact, it will have an aux input so anyone can bring an mp3 player if they wish.
Waiting on the sawdust cannon work to be completed by our welder, hopefully he comes through quickly.
Still Gotta set up something resembling a bar and figure out some power issues but I think I'm mostly good to go here.
So see everyone in a couple days, and don't forget to tell everyone about the party, it would be a shame to have more booze than people (Though I suppose thats pretty low on my list of things I could complain about :D )
Signs will be printed up tonight.
Fire's Done.
Lights are done.
Cool party area is done.
Kegs are ready to go. (Came up with the coolest idea of how to put out the kegs this time)

ROCK AND ROLL!

NEW YEARS!

So I have a problem, one of the bands I had lined up for new years can't make it (their singer will be out of town) and the other is not returning my calls which leads me to suspect that they too, will bail.
While this isn't a huge deal, I can always just setup some speakers with an ipod input, live bands would be great. Anyone know a band that won't be busy on new years? I may just go on gainesvillebands.com and ask around, but I figured I would ask you guys first.

Everything else, however, is going great. I've sent out directions via facebook/myspace ( http://kinland.net/directions.html in case you missed them) and the rest of the setup is proceeding well.

Note - I will have 2 kegs minimum and as much liquor as my bank account can handle, but it would be nice if everyone brought something, be it a bottle of champagne or just a 6 pack.

There will be an area for tents as always if anyone would like to camp, I know I will, as I don't plan on being sober enough to walk the half a mile back to my house :)

And now, I need to go buy fireworks.

So here's some random (probably x-posted to FB)

I am fucking bored tonight. Seriously. We were supposed to be getting drunk playing Castle Crashers but some people had to work, and some people NEVER ANSWER THEIR PHONES!
Everyone else seems to be writing papers, working, or studying for finals. (these things are acceptable, they all suck)
So here I sit, taking shots of rum, bored on the internet.

-

I finally got around to watching Zack and Miri Make a Porno last night, that was everything I expected in a Kevin smith movie. Fucking hilarious. Somehow he always manages to take dick and fart jokes and make them worth watching.

-

I've been prepping like crazy for this new years party, but I need something from everyone else: Invite your friend, and tell them to invite theirs, seriously, the more people the better, there is no limit. I've already invited over 400 people via facebook/myspace/real life but it's not enough, average party stats show that 1/5 of people invited will actually show. So pay it forward with the invites, anyone and everyone.

-

I want a Guinness

-

I wish my hair would grow faster, I'm getting tired of this middle awkward stage.

-

I get it, I spend a lot of time on the internet. But really? I'm getting tired of people posting year old+ videos and memes and acting like its the coolest newest thing in the world. Get over it! Nerdkind beat you to the punch, find something else to get excited about. Somone actually said to me the other day "Have you ever heard about this 'Rickrolling' thing?"
I wanted to cry

-

Maybe i'll go watch crouching tiger, I haven't seen that movie in a while. It's that or braveheart, and every time I watch braveheart I end up running around my wood with a sword shouting "YOU'LL NEVER TAKE MY FREEEEEEDOOOOOOMMMMMM!"
...to trees.

-

I'm really intent on doing a Battlestar costume for both Megacon and Dragon; although the mega outfit will most likely be BDU's I want to finish a Viper Pilot suit by Sept.

-

Speaking of BSG, I can has new episodes already? I refuse to go into the CIC on the fleet's forums because I'm spoilerphobic.

-

I've been thinking a lot about potential futures. I'm most likely going to drop archeology as a major, too much work for something that (short of the kickass people in the people in the field) I wont enjoy a lot, for either theater or history. If I go theater I have the possibility of an awesome scholarship, but I was looking at my audit and I'm almost done with a history degree, I might just finish that off and see where I can go from there. Decisions, decisions.

I, however, have a dilemma. I really want to write fiction, I love to write, Stories galore run through my mind, but to get anywhere in this world it seems a degree is critical, and fuck getting an english degree, I hate english classes.
Fiction =/= research papers.

ADDENDUM: You know what? Maybe I'll play it safe; work on my history degree whilst throwing up a few short stories and such online and watching the reactions, if they're well received then perhaps I'll peruse writing as a profession.

-

I love the fleet, they're kind of like the family I never had.

-

I've run out of things to talk about.

-

P.S. - No, wait! I forgot about the strange fact that over the past 3 months I've randomly hooked up with like 6 people from my past that I had not seen in forever, it's pretty awesome. Even better? They all seem to be the cool cats I remember them being.

-

P.S.S. ( I know)
Watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mi4b13dQRhg It is by far one fo the best things I've ever seen.

Kiiiiiiick ass.

Last night was AMAZING!

A friend of our just graduated from UF as valedictorian, and is joining the peace core in africa so he decided to rent out XS (club) and have an open bar all night as a goodbye party. This was the third sequel to the infamous Stoplight party where we got an entire apartment complex shut down. (wear green if single, yellow if you're talking to someone, or red if you're taken.)

So free drinks all night, and a TON of people (XS is not a small place and we were at capacity, over 300 people easy)

A couple shots from VIP
(sorry for crappy cellphone quality, I left my camera at home)

Now to get to work on prepping for new years.

(Apoligies for broken english, I'm hungover/still drunk)

GS 25

No one reads this crap anymore, I don't know why I bother updating.

HOWEVER, gatorstompin' 25 was kickass as always. Hit a ton of bars, got a ton of free drinks&food, then harassed Jedi at his place of work till we got bored. Another slew of wristbands and hole punches, can't wait for next semester.

the wristbands (only 9 of them (several buried)) as compared to last years' 17, but there were several places with no bands for some reason.

..Rue Bar took my hat. Fuck that place.

New Years Party!

Here it is: The party on New Years that you can't miss. The directions to the party are slightly different as it's loacted at a different spot on my property, I'll post a revised map/directions soon.
We will have booze, but byob is always a wise idea, you can never have too much.

Invite anyone you want, the more people the better, we have plenty of space for this party.

Warning: We WILL be blowing things up, if you are afraid of explosions (read: boring) then you might wanna reconsider being afraid and come anyway, because this shit is gonna be awesome.
